The Perfect Princess Party

How to organise perfect princess pamper parties. With many years of princess pamper party experience I have seen the good, the bad and the truly out of control.

When we are booked to do a party I ensure that the mother understands that our contribution to the event is purely one-to-one pampering and not the entire entertainment for the afternoon. Booking us or any other princess pamper party service is just the start to how successful, efficient and controlled the party will be.

After being booked for a couple of very well organised princess pamper parties recently, it made me think that a blog on how to organise a stress and headache free event for any size of group might be a help to mums. Before I go into detail, let’s start with a summary of what our princess pamper parties entail and why are they so popular with certain age groups.

A standard Perfect Pamper Princess Pamper Party includes a mini manicure, a mini pedicure with nail artwork/glitter and a small goody beauty bag. This can be upgraded by replacing a nail treatment for a mini facial or adding a mini facial to the package. We also offer make-up workshops for the older girls as we have found that many little ’uns are being given girlie make-up products for birthdays and Christmas and end up using the lot in one go. So our educational fun make-up workshops get the message across that less is more.

Although we market the princess pamper parties package to age group  6 to 10, our average age range is between 8 and 9 years. The reason why these packages are so popular with this age range is because the girls are getting interested in hair, make-up, clothes and usually anything pink, so having a professional beautician to offer treatments to your friends is an exciting experience.

Here’s a few tips and information on how to have a stress free, well organised Princess Pamper party:-

  • THE GUEST LIST
Mums, if you are thinking over-seeing the whole event on your own then a small group of five or six is recommended. If you are asked to accommodate more, get help! Do not try to manage large groups on your own. I suggest that one adult every three additional girls should do the trick.
  • THE VENUE
Parties are usually held at home, but on an occasion whereby the group is larger than the space alternative venues are booked, for example a community centre or village hall that has a reasonable cost is booked.   If you need to find a venue, please do get I touch we might be able to help.
    THE FOOD
If you have the time, make or buy the majority of things the day or evening before the party, and if you are going to invite a large group, call in the helpers. If you don’t have the time or the help and can afford for someone to cater for the event we would be happy to quote for this. Try to limit offering too many sweet things. If possible try to delay the intake of all things sugary before the sit down birthday tea. Through massive loads of sweetie consumption before the birthday tea, I have seen the sudden change from calm and controllable to bouncing-off- the walls hyperactivity with ear-piercing screaming that has stressed-out a well organised and efficient business executive. Be warned!!!!
  • THE ACTIVITIES
Perfect Pamper is booked to provide the treatment package and depending on the group size will arrange the required number of beauticians to attend. While we are providing treatments the group will need entertaining. Don’t think that they will be okay with just sitting and watching a DVD or dancing to the music while they wait for their turn, this might be fine for about ten minutes (five minutes if they have hit the sweetie bowl). The best organised parties have no television just a little background  music. Little group workshops supervised by adults are set up for jewellery making, colouring and drawing, paper mache making or anything that involves crafts should hold their attention in between treatments
  • HOW LONG?
An average party duration is 2 ½ to 3 hours. Usually starting at 2.30pm or 3pm and finishing on average at 6pm when parents come to collect their daughters. Within this time span treatments and activities take place and the birthday tea is usually scheduled nearer the end of the afternoon and takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
