Clay Pigeon Shooting
If your group likes the idea of an outdoor activity clay pigeon shooting will certainly fit into your weekend events. Spend a couple of hours outdoors sharing a challenge with friendly rivalry can add to the enjoyment of your staycation.
Clay pigeon shooting is a growing sport of shooting flying clays with a shotgun. Before 1921 live pigeons were used as target practice for competitions. Lucky for pigeons’ today clays are now the practice targets as it is illegal to use live birds, although the clays are sometimes referred to as ‘birds’. The clays are fired from a machine called a trap into the air and the aim is to bring the clays down by shooting them into a thousand pieces.
We use several licensed sites for our groups depending on location of their stay. Each range has an experienced instructor who will cover all aspects of gun safety, how to load a gun and fire it correctly so you will be fully safety instructed before you start.
When you have had your safety training on how to handle your gun, the fun can begin. You will be guided on how to establish the skill of hand-eye coordination and timing in-order to shoot down the target.
Each shooting range caters for beginners and experienced marksmen. Clay pigeon shooting can be enjoyed by anyone of any age, so it’s a sport for all the family. It is ideal for hen weekends and birthday celebrations.
Beginners are always welcomed and encouraged with friendly advice from club members.
Cost is in the range of £60 per person depending on your location and the nearest shooting range. In the package you will get two hour session including safety training, gun handling, gun hire and a specified number of shots.
