“The job of feets is walking, but their hobby is dancing.” ― Amit Kalantri

Kansa Foot massage, Norwich, Norfolk, Perfect PamperAs we all know our feet take a huge amount of strain and get tired and sore, this is why a professional foot massage can be beneficial to ease and relax us.

Foot massage is mentioned in various books on Ayurveda, so it’s always been a part of Ayurveda practice and medicine.  Ayurvedia Kansa Vatki foot massage is a relaxing therapy that balances the mind and the body. This unique treatment is a ceremony practised over many centuries and involved using Ghee (clarified butter, although we use other organic oils) applied to feet and legs. The massage relaxes the muscles of the feet and legs and nourishes the skin, improves blood flow and lymph circulation. Relaxation from the treatment helps alleviate stress and helps depression and anxiety.

The massage has some similarities to reflexology whereby it identifies certain energy points relating to vital organs. Spiritually Kansa Vatki rebalances Vata, Pitta and Kapha, the tri-dosha. Vata is composed of air and ether and is the energy responsible for movement. Pitta is composed of fire and water and is energy for responsible for the metabolism. Kapha is composed of earth and water and is the energy responsible for storage.

Part of the treatment involves rubbing the soles of the feet with a Kansa Vatki bowl, a metal bowl containing copper, zinc and tin to draw out heat and toxins. The routine of the bowl rubbing is to target the marma points with the Kansa Vatki bowl. Fingers and thumbs are used on the feet and legs for the remainder of the treatment by again targeting marma points with pressure and massage. The two-part treatment helps to detoxify and balance the body’s energies. After the procedure your feet feel regenerated and relaxed.

Ayurvedia Kansa Vatki Foot Massage will take up to 45 minutes. It can be added to, or shortened as part of a pedicure giving your feet the total works. Or, it can part of a Ayurvedia two part package of Indian Head massage and Indian Kansa Vatki foot massage.

We are Kansa Vatki foot massage trained by a London Centre of Indian Champissage International tutor.
